In 2018 we found out we were finally pregnant!
I’d dabbled in and out of sewing and other hand crafts but nothing really stuck. When we had our anatomy scan for the little bug and found we were expecting a little lady, things just clicked! Not only with the creative juices and the need to “nest” but the ambitious drive to use sustainable products and reusable nappies for our little one!
I started primarily sewing with woven fabrics and small baby clothing items along with some dresses for myself and I fell head over heels in love with every aspect of sewing. Fast forward to today, where our little bug is now a little person with her own attitude, personality and wanderlust; we’ve been in cloth nappies since 3 days old.
I’ve come leaps and bounds with sewing, and trialing every fabric base you can think of until I discovered PUL (polyurethane laminate), now this is my go to!
My mission has now woven itself into a passion to create the best modern cloth nappies for young families. I want them too look beautiful, create laughs and smile all while stylishly doing the best job they are intended for.
I’m determined to curb the stigma of cloth nappies being to hard or gross and I wish to inspire a positive change for the planet.
Birth to toilet training will use over 5000 non bio-degradable single use nappies. These all end up in landfill where they will take over 500 years to break down, EACH! Now that’s a legacy I didn’t want to leave behind for our new generations.
